Youth Tennis Instructor at Oswegoland Park District in Montgomery, IL

Job Overview: This position will instruct youth tennis for 5 to 12 year olds. The program is located outside at the Civic Center, 5 Ashlawn, Montgomery, IL.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Significant involvement in communicating with, but not limited to parents, children, and park district staff
• Significant involvement in program design and coordination along with tennis instruction
• Some involvement in maintaining tennis equipment and the cleanliness/care of tennis courts
• Responsible for the safety and instruction of tennis participants ages 5-12 of all skill levels
• Dress appropriately and wear sun protection at all times when working outdoors
• Create and utilize activity plans designed for all classes to accommodate the different age groups and skill sets
• Ability to take direction and to delegate
• Other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

• Minimum of 17 years of age
• Experience and knowledge in tennis including fundamentals, technique, rules, and regulations
• Ability to work with the public and other staff in a professional manner
• Ability to work as a team
• Possess effective communication skills
• Understand and exhibit behavior consistent with stated values of the District
