The Orthopaedic & Fracture Clinic is a physician-owned clinic specializing in orthopedic care for all ages. With a specialized, comprehensive team of orthopedic surgeons, physician assistants, physical therapists, and friendly support staff, OFC is among Minnesota's most experienced orthopedic groups. Our primary clinic offers comprehensive services through our Physical Therapy/Sports Medicine Department, Back Care Center, in-office X-ray, and MRI.

About the Role:

The Physical Therapy Aide is responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of all therapy equipment and supplies. Aides will assist with the general appearance of the clinic area and are responsible for completing all duties as assigned by the staff of the Back Care Center Department.

Responsibilities:

• Straighten and maintain treatment areas in the morning, after each patient, and at the end of the day.
• Accompany patients to treatment areas and prepare for treatment in conformance with the Physical Therapist’s instructions; notify the Physical Therapist/Physical Therapist Assistant when the patient is ready for treatment.
• Assist patients as necessary.
• Maintain laundry supply in treatment areas. Perform laundry functions.
• Keep all equipment in readiness; perform housekeeping tasks as directed.
• Understand and adhere to OSHA requirements for workplace safety to protect against
  • Potential exposure to bodily fluids.
  • Workplace injuries.
• Prepare new patient charts.
• Notify the department's director of needed supplies in the clinic area.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Part-time.
• Mankato office: 1431 Premier Drive | Mankato, MN 56001.
• Reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work.

Candidate Requirements:

• Ability to complete repetitive tasks.
• Have a basic understanding of general office procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills to effectively work with a variety of patients, employees, and management.
• Able to perceive and interpret written, oral/verbal material and generate written and electronic material.
• Work with patients tactfully and effectively without direct supervision.
• Speaks articulately.
• Alternately stand, walk for up to eight hours per day, bend, stoop, twist, and kneel
• Assist patients in turning, transferring on and off the exam table, arising from and returning to a wheelchair, and pushing wheelchair patients.
• Able to carry/lift up to 50 pounds.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

This position is typically standing for long periods (>75% of day), walking, bending, stooping, twisting, kneeling, and lifting/transferring patients (up to over 50 lbs with assistance). Essential demands include using hands for massage, applying resistance, operating equipment, and fine manipulation for tasks like documenting or applying modalities. Assist patients in turning, transferring on and off the exam table, arising from and returning to a wheelchair, and pushing wheelchair patients. Reaching above, at, and below shoulder height for daily patient care. Demonstrating exercises, engaging in physical activity alongside patients, and handling equipment.
