Job Summary – Assistant/Bookkeeper/Quality Assistant
The ideal candidate for this role must enjoy performing a variety of tasks and must exhibit excellent communication skills and an eagerness to learn. They must understand accounting principles, be positive and energetic. Prior detailed knowledge is not required as training provided for all tasks. However, candidate MUST be eager and able to develop an understanding of the manufacturing and dispensing of ophthalmic eyewear.
Your to-do list will change daily, but your main responsibilities are:
Bookkeeping
· Posting and maintaining financial transactions using our internal system
· Reconciliation of entries into the accounting system
· Work with designated accountant who closes the quarter and year.
· Analysis of accounts for trends. Propose cost savings.
· Liaise with vendors
Human Resources
· Participate in candidate screening and recruitment activities
· Organize new employee setup, training for, orientation and HR forms including benefits.
· Coordinate training and development activities for employees
Health & Safety Coordinator
· Organize, manage and maintain Health & Safety policies and training to ensure compliance
· Participate in monthly safety audits
Quality Compliance
· Assist with maintaining relevant ISO standards and guidelines
· Participate in review of feedback and corrective actions (CAPA)
· Participate in routine audits of SOPs
Executive Assistant
· Assisting President with various tasks and errands.
Key Competencies and Traits:
· Strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks.
· Understand of bookkeeping and financial statement preparation.
· Self-motivating and resourceful. Ability to initiate a problem resolution without instruction.
· Valid drivers license required
· Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work conditions.
Education

- accounting principles
- optical, ophthalmic or related fields
Experience
Prior experience in office administration or support roles is advantageous.
Pay: $60,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
