Job Description
Summary: Onto Innovation is a leader in process control, and they are seeking a Mechanical Engineer Intern to assist in the design and development of mechanical systems for semiconductor metrology equipment. The intern will conduct simulations, collaborate with teams, and support prototyping and testing activities.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design and development of mechanical systems and components for semiconductor metrology equipment
- Conduct simulations and analyses to evaluate system performance and ensure reliability
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to integrate mechanical designs with electrical and software components
- Support prototyping and testing activities, including troubleshooting and performance evaluation
- Prepare detailed technical documentation, including design specifications and testing reports
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Familiarity with 3D modeling and CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CATIA)
- Strong understanding of mechanics, materials, and thermal dynamics principles
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and contribute
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with simulation tools such as ANSYS or similar is a plus
