Job Description
Summary: Onto Innovation is a leader in process control within the semiconductor industry, and they are seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to support R&D and sustaining engineering activities. The role involves contributing to the development and maintenance of advanced semiconductor lithography systems while gaining hands-on experience in electrical and electro-mechanical systems.
Responsibilities:
- The Electrical Engineering Intern will support R&D and sustaining engineering activities within the Lithography Business Unit, contributing to the development, enhancement, and maintenance of advanced semiconductor lithography systems
- This role provides hands-on exposure to electrical and electro‑mechanical systems used in capital equipment, while working under the guidance of senior engineers
- The intern will assist with new design introductions, system upgrades, and sustaining engineering efforts that impact manufacturing and service environments, gaining valuable experience across the product lifecycle
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Familiarity with basic electrical circuits, electronics, and electro‑mechanical systems through coursework or lab experience
- Exposure to schematic capture tools or CAD software (academic experience acceptable)
- Interest in semiconductor equipment, lithography systems, or advanced manufacturing technologies
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured engineering processes
- Willingness to learn and work collaboratively with cross‑functional engineering teams
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
