IT and InfoSec Intern at Ontic in Austin, TX

Summary: Ontic is a software company that helps corporate and government security teams identify threats and manage risks. They are seeking a motivated IT and InfoSec Intern to support their IT, networking, and security operations, providing hands-on experience in a technical environment. Responsibilities: - Assist with desktop support, software installations, and user onboarding - Monitor and maintain network hardware, Wi-Fi, and other infrastructure - Support basic cybersecurity initiatives (e.g., endpoint installation, monitoring, log review) - Perform vendor risk assessments and assist in risk management - Help document procedures and troubleshoot hardware/software issues - Collaborate with IT and InfoSec teams on internal projects Required Qualifications: - Actively pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field - Familiarity with Windows, macOS, Linux and basic networking concepts (IP, MAC, DNS, DHCP, etc.) - Exposure to or interest in security tools (e.g., antivirus, SIEM, firewalls) - Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn - Professional, punctual, and able to maintain confidentiality - Must be available on-site in our office 25 hours per week, Monday-Friday between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM - Authorization to work in the U.S - Reliable transportation Required Skills: Windows, macOS, Linux, Networking concepts, Antivirus, SIEM, Firewalls, Incident response, Security operations, FedRAMP, ISO 27001, ISO 27701, IT asset management, Ticketing systems
