Job Description
Summary: Ontic is a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defense industries, and they are seeking an Engineering Intern for their 2026 Engineering Internship Program. The intern will assist engineering teams with research, design, and development tasks related to aerospace systems and components, while also engaging in continuous learning and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
- Assist engineering teams with research, design, and development tasks related to aerospace systems and components. Contribute to the development and revision of technical documentation, including CAD drawings, design reports, and test protocols
- Support tasks involving CAD modeling, simulation, and analysis. Participate in data collection, analysis, and reporting to evaluate performance and identify areas for improvement
- Assist in planning and executing experiments and tests to validate design concepts and performance metrics. Help troubleshoot and document results from test activities
- Attend engineering meetings and contribute ideas for continuous improvement. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, and quality assurance to support project objectives
- Stay updated on aerospace industry trends, emerging technologies, and engineering best practices. Engage in mentorship and training opportunities provided by the team
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Fundamental knowledge of aerospace principles and engineering design
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to a fast-paced setting
- A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn and grow within the aerospace industry
- This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a 'U.S. Person' as defined by 22. C.F.R. 120.15 is required. 'U.S. Person' includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, asylee, or refugee
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with or coursework in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD) is a plus
