Overview
The People Operations Intern will support the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the People team at OneRail. This role exists to enhance team efficiency by assisting with recurring administrative tasks, data management, and coordination efforts across HR processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to learn in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the People Operations team, including scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, and coordinating logistics
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, including preparing documentation and tracking completion of tasks
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure data integrity across HR systems
- Support payroll and benefits administration tasks such as data entry, audits, and follow-ups
- Help coordinate internal communications, employee engagement activities, and company events
- Assist with recruiting coordination, including scheduling interviews and communicating with candidates
- Organize and maintain digital files, documentation, and HR templates
- Support reporting and data tracking for People metrics and dashboards
- Perform general administrative duties and ad hoc projects as assigned
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong willingness to learn and take initiative
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous internship or administrative experience in HR or business operations
- Familiarity with HRIS systems, payroll platforms, or applicant tracking systems (ATS)
- Interest in People Operations, HR strategy, or organizational development
