Full time: Antenna Software Engineer, Satellite at Omnissa · Venice

Summary: Omnis Corporation is actively developing technologies to provide fast, reliable internet through a large LEO satellite constellation. The Antenna Software Engineer will be responsible for developing software for advanced phased array systems and collaborating with engineering teams to ensure optimal performance and operation. Responsibilities: - Develop embedded software for custom modem and beamformer silicon ASICs that form the foundation of Omnis’s phased array antennas - Write flight-critical software to ensure intended operation of the antenna throughout the lifecycle of the satellite - Collaborate with phased array antenna engineers to build and implement new techniques to measure antennas as part of our CI/CD process - Analyze on-orbit performance data and investigate methods to improve performance and debug issues - Drive production RF test features to verify hardware in the factory while maintaining a rapid rate of production - Design and build automated measurement systems to characterize phased arrays radiating at 10-20GHz - Provide software engineering expertise and mission-critical support to the broader Payload Engineering organization Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering - 1+ years of programming experience in embedded C or C++ (internships, collegiate clubs, and project work can apply) - Ability to work extended hours or weekends as needed for mission critical deadlines Preferred Qualifications: - Experience and understanding of RF fundamentals and/or communications theory - Familiarity with radio-related lab measurement equipment and techniques such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and signal generators - Experience with phased array antenna systems - Ability to work in a fast-paced, autonomously driven, and demanding start-up atmosphere - Excellent written and verbal communication skills Required Skills: Embedded C, C++, RF fundamentals, Communications theory, Phased array antenna systems, Radio measurement equipment, Spectrum analyzers, Network analyzers, Signal generators Benefits: Long-term incentives, in the form of company stock, stock options, or long-term cash awards, Potential discretionary bonuses, Ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage, Access to a 401(k) retirement plan, Short and long-term disability insurance, Life insurance, Paid parental leave, Various other discounts and perks, 3 weeks of paid vacation, 10 or more paid holidays per year
