Job Description
Summary: OmniOn Power is a leader in power conversion technology, providing innovative solutions for electrical infrastructures. As a Power Electronics Intern (Mechanical Design), you will support the R&D Engineering team in product development and evaluation of new technologies for high-density power supplies.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the product and technology projects on high-density power supplies
- Assist in modeling and designing of mechanical components and assemblies, and creating CAD drawings
- Assist in thermal design
- Support engineering prototype builds and conduct laboratory tests
- Present the technical results
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a B.S, M.S or Ph.D. program in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering, in the US
- Must be able to work out of the OmniOn Power HQ located in Plano, TX during the duration of the internship
- Experience in electronics packaging and/ or thermal design
- Familiarity with 3D CAD tools – Creo, SolidWorks, etc
- Familiarity with ANSYS Icepak
- Experience in Windchill and BOM structuring
- Familiarity with PCB and PCBA, and electrical safety requirements
- Ability to learn quickly and work in teams
- Effective communication skills
