Job Description
Summary: Okta is The World’s Identity Company, providing secure access and authentication solutions. They are seeking an Executive IT Support Engineer Intern to assist with technical support for executives and VIP users, gaining hands-on experience in IT operations and cloud infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Support Okta executives, Board members, and their Executive Assistants by troubleshooting hardware, software, identity and access management, and connectivity issues
- Assist with device setup and lifecycle management (MacBooks, iPads, peripherals), and ensure executive readiness for meetings, travel, and high-visibility events
- Help prepare and validate AV, conferencing, and workspace environments for critical meetings and leadership sessions
- Leverage emerging AI-powered support tools to accelerate troubleshooting, surface knowledge, and improve resolution quality
- Participate in the Premier Support operating model by assisting with intake, prioritization, and resolution of executive IT requests
- Learn how escalations are handled, how ownership is maintained across issues, and how high-impact problems are resolved quickly with minimal handoffs
- Support the use of AI-assisted workflows for request triage, issue classification, and routing to improve response time and consistency
- Collaborate on strategic initiatives focused on AI-enabled support, automation, and next-generation service delivery
- Assist with testing and improving AI-driven tools such as virtual support agents, automated workflows, and intelligent dashboards
- Identify opportunities for AI to reduce manual work, enhance the executive experience, and improve operational efficiency through scripting, automation, or the integration of new technologies
- Create and execute test cases for Premier Support workflows, automation, and AI-enabled tools to ensure reliability, security, and usability
- Develop documentation, including user guides, internal runbooks, FAQs, and knowledge base articles
- Contribute to building scalable, AI-supported knowledge systems that reduce repeat issues, improve first-contact resolution, and enable consistent white-glove service
- Track IT assets and accessories, assist with device provisioning and redeployment, and support logistics for shipping, returns, and executive travel readiness
- Work within platforms such as Jira and ServiceNow to manage tickets, tasks, and project work while learning how AI and automation can be applied to asset tracking, reporting, and operational workflows
- Lead a self-directed capstone project centered on improving an executive IT workflow, automating a recurring process, enhancing a support tool, or designing an AI-enabled solution
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field and graduating December 2026 or Spring 2027
- Knowledge of computer systems, hardware, and software troubleshooting
- Basic understanding of networking concepts and security fundamentals
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with a professional demeanor
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with cloud computing concepts and tools like AWS, Docker, and Terraform
- Experience with ITSM platforms such as Jira, ServiceNow, or Zendesk
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and automation tools
- Curiosity about AI-powered tools, automation, and how emerging technologies can improve IT operations, support workflows, and the end-user experience
- Comfort experimenting with new tools, learning quickly, and thinking about how processes can be made more efficient, scalable, and intelligent
- Interest in staying up-to-date with evolving IT, cloud, and AI-enabled support trends
