Summary: OceanX is a nonprofit working to unlock the ocean's sustainable potential. They are seeking a Data Intern to support the Data Team in building data pipelines, visualizations, and analytical workflows. Responsibilities: - Work closely with our Digital Programs and Science teams to develop project plans and requirements for data projects - Develop data ingestion pipelines using Python and related technologies - Build data normalization / transformation processes using DBT and SQL - Build data visualizations using Metabase - Contribute to user-facing Science Data Products using Python and Javascript/Typescript - Contribute to Agentic AI workflow design and implementation Required Qualifications: - Actively pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related fields - Familiarity with one or more of the following: Python, SQL, Javascript/Typescript - Familiarity with relational databases such as MySQL or Postgres - Familiarity with version control software such as Git - Determined, resourceful and practical.
