Job Description
Summary: O3 is a design and technology consulting firm that helps companies use data and AI to work smarter and grow faster. They are looking for a Junior Web Designer to join their design team as a summer intern, supporting web design projects and learning from experienced designers.
Responsibilities:
- Support the design team on projects across discovery, concepting, and production phases
- Build and maintain design files in Figma, including components, variants, and documentation that engineering can use confidently
- Contribute to visual explorations, moodboards, and style directions for client projects
- Adapt designs across breakpoints with attention to responsive behavior and accessibility
- Prepare design assets for handoff, including specs, redlines, and exportable files
- Take direction well, ask good questions, and document your work clearly
- Supports internal design efforts for 1682 (O3’s signature conference), the O3 World website, and company aspects as they come up
Required Qualifications:
- A junior designer with a background in Digital Media, Graphic Design, UX, or a similar background
- Proficiency in Figma, including a working understanding of components and auto layout
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop
- Familiarity with core web design principles: typography, layout, color, hierarchy, and responsive behavior
- Basic understanding of HTML and CSS, enough to design with the medium in mind
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exposure to design systems or component libraries
- Familiarity with accessibility standards
- Motion or prototyping work (Figma, After Effects, Rive, Framer, or similar tools)
- Any experience writing or editing for the web
- Experience integrating AI into workflows as an accelerator for work, not a replacement
