Summary: NVIDIA is looking for a Software Engineer to join the Quantum & Chemistry group. This role involves developing solutions for AI for science agents and collaborating with domain and AI scientists to enhance research efforts in agentic science. Responsibilities: - Designing and developing solutions for AI for science agents that integrate with the current NVIDIA agentic stack - Collaborating closely with internal and external partners to understand requirements and deliver robust full-cycle solutions - Improving stability and performance across the agentic pipeline through architectural enhancements and code optimizations - Troubleshooting issues in distributed environments - Working multi-functionally with architects, DevOps engineers, product managers and partners to ensure high-quality releases - Participating in code reviews, technical design discussions, and continuous improvement activities within the team Required Qualifications: - You are completing a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) - Hands-on experience in software development - Strong understanding of software design patterns, architectural principles, and standard methodologies in complex distributed systems - Experience with microservices architectures - Proficiency with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines - Experience working with both Linux and Windows operating systems - Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking, with the ability to deliver high-quality code and resilient services - Strong debugging and troubleshooting capabilities in distributed systems or multi-node environments - Excellent communication skills and an ownership-driven mindset - Experience in Agentic AI development with proficiency with Pytorch and or Tensorflow Preferred Qualifications: - Python proficiency (strongly preferred due to Python-based tooling) - Familiarity with DevOps methodologies and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Ansible) - Hands-on experience with Docker and containerized environments - Experience with scientific codes and high-performance computing - Experience with lab automation Required Skills: Software development, Microservices architectures, Agentic AI development Important Skills: Software design patterns, Version control systems, CI/CD pipelines, Linux, Windows OS Nice-to-Have Skills: Analytical thinking, Debugging capabilities, Python proficiency, DevOps methodologies, Docker experience, Scientific codes experience, Lab automation experience, Problem-solving, Communication skills, Ownership-driven mindset Benefits: You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.
