Job Description
Summary: NVIDIA is a leading company in computer graphics and accelerated computing, seeking an intern for their applied LLM chip design team. The role involves developing algorithms for AI applications that transform chip design and engaging with the latest advancements in machine learning and AI.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize retrieval and generation algorithms for enterprise data (text, code, and images) to build advanced AI applications that transform chip design
- Drive impact by designing and deploying LLM-powered solutions for engineering assistants and multi-turn, multi-modal dialogue systems
- Make a difference by leveraging AI technologies to solve sophisticated problems in chip design, driving innovation and meaningful impact across the industry

Required Qualifications:
- Pursuing MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, or a related subject area
- Strong foundational knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proven track record to thrive in dynamic, product-focused, and distributed teams
- Proactive approach to problem-solving
- Willingness to acquire new skills and knowledge as needed to achieve results
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in rapid prototyping using languages like Python
- Familiarity with large language models
- Familiarity with advanced Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines
- Familiarity with vector databases and agentic frameworks
- Familiarity with LLM post-training using reinforcement learning and reasoning
- Familiarity with Agent post-training and long-horizon alignment
- Familiarity with speculative decoding
- Familiarity with Test-time scaling and adaptive compute
