We’re Hiring for the Final Weeks of Summer!

Looking to make the most of the last few weeks of summer while gaining meaningful experience working with children? NORY is hiring enthusiastic and energetic Camp Counselors to join our team immediately for our remaining summer camp programs, with our longest-running camp continuing through September 9. This is a great opportunity for educators, college students, teaching artists, camp professionals, and anyone experienced with children who has immediate availability and is ready to jump into an active camp environment. Although this is a short-term summer opportunity, strong team members may also have opportunities to continue working with NORY through our holiday camps, afterschool programs, birthday parties, and special events throughout the school year.

Camp Counselor Responsibilities

• Mentorship and Guidance: Lead and support campers through interactive STEM activities while encouraging their educational and personal development.

• Safety and Supervision: Maintain a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for campers while following all camp safety procedures.

• Activity Support: Help organize and facilitate camp activities to ensure each day is dynamic, structured, and enriching.

• Team Collaboration: Work closely with fellow counselors and camp leadership to create a smooth and positive experience for campers.

Camp Counselor Qualifications

• Immediate Availability: You are available to begin working as soon as possible during our remaining summer camp weeks, with opportunities available through September 9.

• Experience with Children: You have 1+ years of experience working with children ages 3–12 and a genuine passion for education and child development.

• Enthusiastic and Eager to Learn: You are excited to learn new technologies, activities, and teaching approaches.

• Positive and Solution-Oriented: You approach challenges with a positive mindset, seek solutions, and welcome constructive feedback.

• Fun and Energetic: You bring enthusiasm, warmth, and energy that matches the dynamic environment of our camps.

• Reliable and Adaptable: Because we are hiring for the final weeks of camp, we especially value candidates who can onboard quickly, communicate clearly, and reliably commit to their confirmed schedule.

Schedule, Compensation & Location

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:45 AM–4:30 PM, with Thursdays until 5:30 PM. Camp programming runs from 9:00 AM–3:00 PM, with time before and after camp for preparation and wrap-up.

• End-of-Summer Dates: Hiring immediately for our remaining summer programs, with our longest-running camp continuing through September 9. Exact dates may vary based on camp location and staffing needs.

• Compensation: $840.05–$946.75 per week for Lead Counselors, including an $85 weekly bonus. Additional extended care opportunities are available at $22/hour until 5:30 PM.

• Location: Manhattan and Brooklyn
