Design Project Manager, Construction
Responsibilities
The Design Project Manager manages the necessary resources for coordinated implementation of several concurrent Norton Healthcare capital design, interior renovation, and system office projects with budgets up to $1M and is responsible for assisting the Manager, Design with daily end user requests for furniture, signage and wayfinding, artwork, space planning, and design services. The Design Project Manager will assemble, maintain, and distribute new updates to finish standards. The Design Project Manager demonstrates knowledge of healthcare industry design standards and processes and supports other departmental activities as assigned.
Key Accountabilities:
Manages several concurrent, small to medium-sized capital design, interior renovation, and system office projects. Coordinates the activities and efforts of internal resources and external consultants, contractors and vendors to complete assigned capital design, interior renovation, and system office projects on time, within budget, and according to the approved scope of work. Assembles and manages qualified teams of internal and external resources to accomplish defined project goals and objectives and ensures accurate, quality, timely delivery of products and services. Provides regular budget, schedule, and progress updates to leadership and other project stakeholders utilizing departmental reporting software systems and methods. Responsible for receiving/inputting all facilities floorplans in AutoCAD/Revit format. Drafting as needed. Develops graphic renderings for presentation purposes.
Monitors assigned capital design, interior renovation, and system office projects to ensure compliance with Norton Healthcare policies, procedures and guidelines and with all applicable local, state and federal regulations or the guidelines of other entities having jurisdiction. Inspects completed projects for compliance with all requirements. Ensures proper receipt of contracted services. Verifies regulatory inspection and approval, including issuance of final occupancy and operation permits in a timely manner. Acts as team leader and coordinates all furniture, signage & wayfinding, and artwork installations and other vendors rendering services on assigned projects to ensure project completion within specified timeframes and budgetary guidelines. Produces scope documents and develops & produces graphic renderings. Acts as Move Management coordinator for relocation projects as assigned by Manager, Design.
Prepares and maintains contracts and other agreements with external contractors / vendors / consultants and ensures adherence to contract provisions. Manages and controls required project documentation using department reporting software. Assists Manager, Design with collection, coordination, and maintaining Norton Healthcare furniture, Signage & wayfinding, and artwork standard including maintaining Norton Healthcare’s resource library.
Maintains strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including participation in project and planning department meetings, and with external resources including architectural design firms, interior designers, furnishings vendors, and general contractors.
Qualifications
Required:
- Three years in interior design, architecture, graphic design, or healthcare related design project management.
- Bachelor Degree Interior design or related field
- One of: National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ), Kentucky Certified Interior Designer (KYCID), or registered architect (NCARB)
