Job Description
Summary: Northwell Health is a leading healthcare organization, and they are seeking an Infrastructure Services and Management Engineer to monitor and support critical health system infrastructure. The role involves collaborating with various teams to provide operational support for systems and requires hands-on experience with Google Cloud and backend Windows platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Develops and maintains infrastructure within the area of expertise
- Develops, recommends, implements, and evaluates approved policies and procedures (and updates) relating to the supported infrastructure
- Coordinates and provides technical assistance, and software upgrades for supported infrastructure
- Operates under general guidance and work assignments are varied and require interpretation and independent decisions on course of action
- Performs related duties as required. All responsibilities noted here are considered essential functions of the job under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Duties not mentioned here, but considered related are not essential functions
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience
- 1-3 years of relevant experience, required
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud
- Knowledge of cloud security best practices, IAM, encryption, and foundational compliance concepts
- Experience implementing and using monitoring, logging, and alerting tools
- Participating in on-call rotation
- Operations and management of backend Windows, Citrix, and VMware platforms
- Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with engineering and application teams to deploy, support, and maintain applications in cloud environments
Preferred Qualifications:
- Performs monitoring, patching, backup and restore, and incident and problem management for Citrix and VMware workloads running in on-prem, hybrid, and cloud environments
- Strong hands-on administration and support for VMware vSphere/vCenter and Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, including provisioning, capacity management, performance tuning, and troubleshooting in enterprise Windows server environments
- Supports Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, StoreFront, Citrix ADC/NetScaler, profile management, and application and desktop publishing in multi-site Windows server environments
- Proven knowledge of End User Compute and Microsoft Technologies: Citrix, VMware, Windows Server, Windows Desktop and Active Directory
- Practical knowledge of Cloud technologies like GCP
- Knowledge of Netscaler GSLB implementation
- Demonstratable experience
