Description
Northrop Grumman Australia (NGA) is offering an excitingContracts Internshipwithin ourContracts functionas part of the2026–2027 Summer Intern Program.
This internship isa great opportunityfor students interested incommercial, legal, and business aspects of Defence programs.You’llwork closely with experienced contracts professionals and gain exposure to how large, complex Defence contracts are managed across multiple program areas and head office functions.
The role is designed to provide broad exposure to NGA’s business, withhands‑oninvolvement in real contract activities and insight into how commercial decisions supportlong‑termDefence capabilities.
Whatyou’llbedoing
As a Contracts Intern, you will:
Support theSenior Contracts Manageracross a variety ofcontract‑relatedtasksAssistwith
reviewing documentation associated withcontract changes, Statements of Work, and contract deliverables
Contribute to the development oftender responses, where applicable
Gain exposure to multipleprogram areas and head office activities
Support planning activities forfuture programs and business priorities
Learn how contracts and commercial decisions enable the delivery of Defence capability
This12 weekinternship is designed to help you learn, grow, and gain confidence in a real Defencecontractsenvironment.This roleis based atourSymonston office in Canberra, Australian CapitalTerritory.
Eligibility requirements:
We’relooking for motivated students with an interest in contracts, business, and the Defence industry. Ideally,you’llbring:
Penultimate orfinal‑yearstudy inLaw, Commerce, Economics, or Business
Strong written and verbalcommunication skills
Good commercial awareness and the ability to think critically
A genuine interest inDefence, industry, and how large organisations operate
Willingness to learn and contribute across a broad range of activities
Ability to work full-time over theallocatedinternship period
