Description
As anAvionics Engineer InternatNorthrop Grumman Australia (NGA),you’llgainhands‑onexposure supporting theKC‑30Aaircraft, a critical capability for the Royal Australian Air Force.You’llwork alongside experienced avionics engineers, learn how complexaircraftsystems are supported, and see how engineering contributes directly to Australia’s Defence mission.
Whatyou’llbe doing
You’lljoin a welcoming and supportive engineering team, whereyou’llbe guided and mentored while you:
Assistwith avionics engineering activities supportingaircraftsustainment and operations
Support the analysis and documentation of avionics systems and technical data
Help with troubleshooting, investigations, andproblem‑solvingactivities
Learn how avionics systems are supported within a regulated,safety‑criticalaviation environment
Work with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, systems,logistics, and Defence stakeholders
Gain exposure to Defence aviation standards, processes, and governance
This12 weekinternship is designed to help you learn by doing, build technical confidence, and develop practical skills that complement your studies.This role is based at Springfield Lakes base in Brisbane, Queensland.
Eligibility requirements:
We’relooking for curious, motivated students who are keen to learn:
Currently studying aBachelor of Avionics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
Interested inaircraftsystems, avionics, and Defence aviation
Curious, motivated, and not afraid to ask questions
Strong attention to detail with an interest in technicalproblem‑solving
Good communicationskills and ateam‑focusedmindset
Australian citizenship (requiredto work on Defence programs)
Ability to work full-time over theallocatedinternship period
