Description
Northrop Grumman Australia (NGA) is offering a uniqueAircraft Structural Integrity / Propulsion Systems Integrity (ASI/PSI) Engineering Internshipas part of our2026–2027 Summer Intern Program.
In this role,you’llbe embedded within ourASI‑PSI Engineering team, primarily supporting theKC‑30A sustainment program. This internship offers rare exposure to a highly specialised engineering discipline that plays a critical role in ensuringaircraftsafety, airworthiness, andlong‑termsustainment within Defence programs.
You’llgainhands‑onexperience across structural integrity, propulsion systems integrity, condition monitoring, and data analytics, while working alongside experienced engineers on real engineering challenges.
Whatyou’llbedoing
As an ASI/PSI Engineering Intern, you will:
Develop a practical understanding ofAircraft Structural Integrity and Propulsion Systems Integrity
Support theKC‑30A sustainment program, learning how engineering, maintenance, and operational teams work together
Assistin the development ofdata analytics toolsto support the maturation of condition monitoring systems
Apply your university studies to real engineering and sustainment problems
Attend maintenance sites to see how engineering analysis directly supportsaircraftsustainment and safety
Present your work and key learnings at the conclusion of your internship
This12 weekinternship is designed to help you learn, grow, and gain confidence in a real Defence engineering environment.This roleis based at our Springfield office in Brisbane, Queensland.
Eligibility requirements:
We’reseeking motivated engineering students with a strong technical foundation and an interest in Defence aviation. Ideally, you will have:
Current study inAerospace, Mechanical, or Structures Engineering
Second orthird‑yearstanding in a Bachelor of Engineering degree
Strong analytical thinking andproblem‑solvingskills
An interest inaircraftsustainment, integrity, or systems engineering
Programming, coding, or data curation skills (highly regarded)
Exposure to systems engineering concepts (desirable but not essential)
Ability to work full-time over theallocatedinternship period
