As an Engineering Technician – Level 1, you will be involved in the precise fabrication and assembly of aerospace thermal insulation blankets, working closely with engineering and quality teams to ensure compliance and quality standards. Responsibilities: - This role involves the precise fabrication, assembly, and installation of thermal insulation blankets - The ideal candidate will have strong manual dexterity, attention to detail, and experience working with specialized materials in a fast-paced environment - Fabricate custom thermal blankets based on engineering drawings, patterns, and technical specifications - Measure, cut, sew, and assemble thermal insulation materials such as reflective films and foils - Operate industrial sewing machines, hot knives, and other fabrication tools safely and accurately - Apply binding, Velcro, snaps, and other fasteners to thermal blankets as required - Perform quality control checks to ensure accuracy, proper fit, and compliance with specifications - Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics - Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve fabrication issues or suggest improvements - Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety protocols - Track materials used and maintain documentation for traceability - May assist with on-site installation or fitting of thermal blankets in equipment or systems - Hot knives and cutting tools Required Qualifications: - A minimum of a High School diploma/GED and 0 years of job-related/manufacturing experience is required - Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government clearance - Must possess good problem solving skills, organizational skills, communication skills, and work with limited supervision - Ability to work with Microsoft Office products and process documentation Preferred Qualifications: - Aerospace Industry manufacturing experience - Experience with sewing machines or textile industries - Experience with TipQA, Costpoint, Windchill, MES, Solumina, COGNOS, or other ERP and enterprise software - Active U.S. Government TS/SCI clearance Required Skills: Thermal insulation fabrication, Industrial sewing machines, Hot knives, Technical drawing interpretation, Microsoft Office, ESD, FOD, 5S, Tool Control, Aerospace manufacturing, ERP software, TipQA, Costpoint, Windchill, MES, Solumina, COGNOS Benefits: Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay., Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results., Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives., Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
