Job Description
Summary: Northrop Grumman is a leading aerospace and defense company that offers innovative solutions impacting lives globally. The Associate Manufacturing Engineer Level 1/2 role involves designing manufacturing processes and collaborating with teams to improve production efficiency for composite aerospace components.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) to develop and implement process improvements as well as support site initiatives
- Work closely with manufacturing personnel in the highly automated production of composite aerospace components
- Author, modify, and audit shop floor electronic work instructions (EWIs). Perform root cause and corrective action (RCCA) activities to permanently eliminate defects
- Troubleshoot production/equipment/program/tooling issues and implementing improvements and solutions
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) and 0 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Currently have active DoD clearance and able to maintain
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR) per company and business needs
- Bachelors Degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) and 1 years of work experience in an engineering manufacturing environment role; OR Masters in STEM field with 0 years of experience
- Experience with reading and understanding engineering drawings and specifications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active DoD Clearance
- Experience using DMAIC problem solving system
- Experience with composite manufacturing
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications
- Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience working with/programming Fanuc or similar robots
- Experience using NX or similar CAD software
- Experience using Smart MES or similar
- Demonstrated understanding of root cause / corrective action processes and techniques
- Experience using RCCA tools such as Five Why, Pareto, fishbone, etc
- Experience drafting, maintaining, and modifying work instructions and/or process specification
