Job Description
Summary: Northrop Grumman is a leading aerospace and defense technology company, seeking AI Systems Engineering interns for their corporate headquarters in Falls Church, VA. The role involves supporting AI governance and strategy, ensuring adherence to responsible AI principles, and collaborating across business units to deliver AI solutions to customers.
Responsibilities:
- Apply systems thinking, logical reasoning, and analytical skills to review AI deployments and validate adherence to Responsible AI principles
- Conduct AI Governance reviews in partnership with experts in privacy, cybersecurity, law, and more to enforce AI policies and standards
- Blend technical skills with strategic business acumen to support the development of enterprise tools and services that increase employee productivity
- Coordinate across business units to enable delivery of AI solutions to NG customers
Required Qualifications:
- Be a student who is enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university and will be enrolled full time in Fall 2026
- Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2026
- Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile)
- Experience working with AI systems and familiarity with AI Architectures
- Experience with developing safety, security or compliance policies
- Experience leading or directly developing AI solutions with a diverse set of stakeholders
- Experience collaborating on projects, managing relationships, and communicating findings to audiences
