Maintenance Technician – Finish Work Specialist

Join the Team Behind One of the City’s Most Iconic Hotels

Are you a skilled Maintenance Technician who takes pride in the details? Do you have a strong eye for finish work and enjoy seeing the immediate results of a job well done?

We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on Maintenance Technician to join our vibrant and professional team at one of the city’s most iconic hotels.

This is more than a maintenance position. It’s an opportunity to become part of the team responsible for preserving a distinctive property, creating a great experience for our guests, and keeping everything looking and operating at its best.

If you’re the kind of person who notices the scuff on the wall, the loose piece of trim, the door that doesn’t quite close correctly, or the fixture that needs a little attention — we want you on our team.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

We’re particularly interested in candidates with strong finish-work and general maintenance skills, including experience with:

• Drywall repair and finishing
• Painting and touch-up work
• Trim, molding and carpentry repairs
• Doors, locks, hinges and other hardware
• Furniture and fixture repairs
• Tile, caulking and cosmetic repairs
• Plumbing and electrical troubleshooting
• HVAC and general mechanical systems
• Preventive maintenance and equipment care
• Diagnosing problems and finding practical solutions

You’ll work throughout the hotel, from guest rooms and suites to public spaces and back-of-house areas, helping us maintain a property that our guests are proud to experience.

The Role

As a Maintenance Technician, you’ll be responsible for keeping the hotel’s physical plant, equipment and guest areas operating safely, efficiently and beautifully.

Your day may include responding to a guest request, completing a work order, repairing a plumbing issue, touching up a room, fixing hardware, troubleshooting HVAC equipment, or putting the finishing touches on a public area.

You’ll also:

• Respond promptly and professionally to guest and department maintenance requests.
• Complete work orders accurately and efficiently and document completed work.
• Inspect guest rooms and public areas for maintenance and cosmetic issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections.
• Troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on plumbing, electrical, HVAC and mechanical equipment.
• Read and interpret meters, gauges, blueprints, schematics and technical information.
• Maintain tools, equipment and engineering supplies.
• Help maintain accurate inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
• Support hotel safety, fire/life-safety and emergency procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment.
• Work independently while knowing when to collaborate with the Engineering team or outside vendors.
• Share your knowledge and skills with other team members.
• Help identify opportunities to improve the appearance, operation and efficiency of the hotel.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Engineering Supervisor or Chief Engineer.

What Makes You a Great Fit

We’re looking for someone who is:

A Craftsman – You care about the finished product and take pride in work that looks as good as it functions.

A Problem Solver – You don’t just identify a problem; you figure out how to fix it.

Detail-Oriented – You understand that small details make a big difference in a guest’s experience.

Professional – You represent the hotel every time you interact with a guest, colleague or vendor.

Self-Motivated – You can prioritize your workload, work independently and keep things moving in a busy hotel environment.

A Team Player – You enjoy working with a professional team and are willing to share your knowledge and lend a hand when needed.

Schedule

Full-Time First Shift: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM

Full-Time Second Shift: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM

Hotel maintenance is a hands-on profession, and no two days are exactly alike. If you enjoy variety, solving problems and being able to look around at the end of the day and say “I fixed that”, you’ll fit right in.
