Summary: Northmarq is a unique capital markets resource for commercial real estate investors, providing access to experts in debt, equity, and investment sales. They are seeking a Summer Analyst to support the Production team in Austin, TX, where the analyst will learn about commercial real estate finance and assist in developing investment packages for institutional investors. Responsibilities: - Support the Production (Debt/Equity) team in Austin, TX - Learn all aspects of commercial real estate, finance, economics, and supporting client relationships - Work with the team's senior analysts and producers, building commercial real estate and commercial mortgages expertise - Support Producers in developing investment packages for distribution to institutional investors - Run pro forma analysis on commercial real estate (apartments, office buildings, retail, and industrial) - Conduct valuation, analysis of borrowers, and analysis of real estate markets / economic data - Create an investment narrative explaining strengths and weaknesses of debt and equity transactions - Conduct special projects throughout the summer assigned by Managing Directors and Producers Required Qualifications: - Currently enrolled and pursuing a business major with a strong finance or accounting background - Excellent writing and verbal communication skills - Ability to critically analyze real estate investments and explain concisely to investors - Strong interpersonal skills - Detail-oriented and organized - Proficient in Excel (you will become an expert) - Valid Drivers License is required - You may be required to provide a writing sample; this should be your best school writing sample from any class (it doesn't need to be business-related) or a sample from a previous internship Required Skills: Finance background, Excel proficiency Important Skills: Real estate analysis, Writing skills Nice-to-Have Skills: Organized, Verbal communication, Interpersonal skills, Detail-oriented Internship Start Date: Start in 2026 Summer Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Paid time off, 401K match, Annual discretionary contribution based on business performance, Paid parental leave, Adoption assistance, Education assistance, Volunteer paid time off, Charitable contribution match
