About Northern Trust:

Within the Third-Party Management Office (TPMO), we are looking for a Senior Reporting Analyst who can operate as both a data expert and a cross-functional coordinator. This role will support the TPMO Business Intelligence group and partner closely with engineering, data, and business teams.
Day-to-day responsibilities:
Act as a liaison between Azure SQL development teams and internal business/system owners
Support and help drive data migration efforts into Azure SQL environments
Analyze datasets to identify data gaps, inconsistencies, and quality issues
Proactively track progress and ensure deliverables stay on schedule across teams
Translate complex technical findings into clear, business-friendly communication
Design, develop, and maintain reporting solutions (Power BI, Azure-based reporting)
Partner with leadership across Vendor Management (FLoD/SLoD) to support reporting needs
Create and enhance dashboards for vendor management, compliance, and risk analytics
Support cloud-based data architecture and integrations (Azure ecosystem)
Submit and manage issues, defects, and data-related troubleshooting items
Contribute across the team as needed in a high-volume, fast-changing environment
Experience Required:
7+ years of experience as a Reporting Analyst, BI Developer, or similar
Strong experience with Azure SQL and data environments
Solid understanding of data migration, data validation, and data quality analysis
Proficiency in SQL and Power BI (DAX, modeling, reporting)
Experience working in cross-functional environments (tech + business teams)
Strong ability to communicate complex data clearly to non-technical stakeholders
Proven track record of being proactive and self-driven
Experience working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
Strong collaboration skills and team-first mindset
Pluses:
Experience in risk, compliance, or vendor management environments
Background supporting cloud migrations (especially into Azure)
Exposure to Power Apps, Power Automate, or SharePoint
Prior leadership or team management experience
Experience working in highly regulated environments (financial services preferred)
Intangibles:
Excellent communicator (clear, concise, not overly technical)
Proactive problem-solver (identifies issues before being asked)
Collaborative and low-ego (team-first mentality)
Flexible and adaptable (willing to take on evolving responsibilities)
Strong listener who seeks to understand before acting
Comfortable interacting with multiple stakeholders and driving alignment
Ability to act as the “glue” between teams (not just a report builder)
Experience coordinating work across engineering and business groups
Personality fit: engaging, communicative, and team-oriented (not overly introverted)
