Job Description
Summary: Nordson Test & Inspection is a global leader in X-Ray & Test Systems and Optical Sensors and Metrology, seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join their team. The Applications Engineering Intern will support customer engagement and product demonstration activities, providing hands-on experience with advanced non-destructive inspection technologies used in semiconductor and advanced packaging markets.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and inspect customer samples for acoustic micro-imaging evaluations
- Operate lab and production Nordson systems
- Set up scan recipes, transducers, and fixtures for various package types
- Monitor scan quality and system performance during evaluations
- Support live and remote customer demonstrations in applications labs
- Assist in explaining inspection results and basic defect interpretation
- Document demo results, images, and observations for internal and customer use
- Collaborate with Sales and Applications teams during customer visits
- Review and organize scan data, images, and reports
- Assist in developing application notes, demo reports, and training material
- Provide feedback on system usability and application performance
- Support continuous improvement of demo workflows and best practices
- Assist with system testing during new product development
- Execute predefined test plans and document results and observations
- Identify and report issues or anomalies to engineering and the applications teams
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a master's degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related technical field
- Coursework or research experience related to imaging, materials, semiconductors, or NDT preferred
- Prior lab, research, or equipment-based experience is a plus

- Strong command of English language
- Strong technical aptitude with hands-on laboratory or equipment operation
- Ability to analyze data and communicate technical results clearly
- Comfortable working in a customer-facing, team-oriented environment
- Good organizational and documentation skills
- Proficiency with basic PC tools (Windows, Excel, PowerPoint); image analysis experience a plus
