Job Description
Summary: Nokia is a global leader in connectivity for the AI era, advancing connectivity to secure a brighter world. They are seeking an Application Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain software applications while supporting customer documentation and automation solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and maintain scripts used by the internal customer documentation team and maintain customer documentation for web deliverables
- Develop software-based applications with high-performance requirements, working across multiple projects, with quickly changing priorities
- Develop and execute software tests to identify software problems and their causes
- Test system modifications to prepare for implementation
- Document software and application defects using a bug tracking system and report defects to software or web developers
- Create and maintain databases of known defects
- Develop automated functionality within applications and extending network automation capabilities
- Develop and support automation and tool infrastructure solutions for producing and delivering customer products
- Apply new programming languages and applications and integrate tool solutions
- Implement and support customer Develops platform by applying scripting languages and Unix/Linux Operating Systems
- Support information developers and teams, focusing on aligning with the business groups and customer’s requirements
- Support the customer documentation team with technical aspects of source code management
- Accountable for quality and accuracy of own output
- Responsible for contribution to teamwork
- Carry out tasks/activities according to assignment and set guidelines
- Demonstrate initiative and adaptability to changing business environments
Required Qualifications:
- Must have a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Skills required: Python, Java, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and shell scripting
- Databases: MySQL, SQL, and MongoDB
- Windows, Linux, and Mac
- Software development and customer documentation development
- VSCode, PyCharm, and OxygenXML
- DITA, XML, XSL, and JSON
- Source code management tools: git, SourceTree, and tortoiseGit
- Domestic travel up to 5%
- International travel up to 5%
- Telecommuting may be permitted up to 100% anywhere in the US
- Skills may be gained through experience or academic coursework
- Qualifying education, coursework, and/or experience may have been gained concurrently
- If offered employment, must have legal right to work in the U.S
