Job Description
The Logistics Officer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing logistics activities related to dredging and marine operations. This includes handling vessel supplies, equipment movement, transportation, customs clearance, and coordination with suppliers, agents, and project teams to ensure uninterrupted marine operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate logistics support for dredging and marine projects, including vessels, barges, and marine units
- Arrange transportation of equipment, spare parts, consumables, and project materials to and from sites
- Manage vessel ration supply, fuel coordination, and marine consumables
- Liaise with shipping lines, freight forwarders, port authorities, customs, and marine agents
- Handle import and export documentation, including invoices, packing lists, BL/AWB, customs clearance, and permits
- Coordinate mobilization and demobilization of vessels and marine equipment
- Track shipments and ensure timely delivery to project sites
- Maintain logistics records, inventory reports, and cost tracking
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, port regulations, and maritime safety standards
- Coordinate with procurement, finance, and project teams for smooth operations
- Resolve logistics issues and provide timely updates to management
Qualifications
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Marine Studies, or a related field
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in logistics within dredging, marine, offshore, or port operations
- Strong knowledge of marine logistics, port operations, and customs procedures
- Experience coordinating with marine agents, suppliers, and international shipments
Skills & Competencies
- Strong coordination and communication skills
- Good knowledge of shipping documents and customs requirements
- Ability to work under pressure and manage urgent operational requirements
- Proficiency in MS Office and logistics/ERP systems
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Working Conditions
- Office-based with frequent coordination with ports, vessels, and project sites
- May require working extended hours based on project and vessel schedules
