Role Overview
The Desktop Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance to end-user systems, ensuring optimal desktop performance, and maintaining a high level of user satisfaction. The role involves installation, configuration, imaging, and troubleshooting of desktops, thin clients, and related devices within a Windows platform environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in providing on-floor support, managing user accounts as an L1 administrator in Active Directory, and participating in shift and on-call support operations
Key Responsibilities
Provide desktop support for end-user systems including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of hardware, software, and operating systems.
Perform imaging and deployment of Windows desktops, laptops,macbooks and thin clients.
Manage and maintain user accounts, security groups, and permissions as an L1 admin in Active Directory. Work on onboarding and offboarding of employees
Deliver on-floor support to ensure quick resolution of user issues in a timely manner.
Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot network connectivity on end-user devices.
Support shift-based schedules and on-call rotations to ensure seamless IT service availability.
Maintain documentation of incidents, resolutions, and standard operating procedures.
Collaborate with other IT teams and vendors to resolve complex issues.
Ensure compliance with IT policies and adherence to companys operational standards.
Perform daily tasks, support operations, audit checklist and anything that falls under IT scope
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelors degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in desktop support or IT infrastructure support roles.
Proven experience in installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Windows operating systems.
Strong knowledge of desktop imaging tools and deployment processes.
Experience working with thin client environments and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI).
Familiarity with Active Directory administration at L1 level.
Proficient in hardware diagnostics and replacement of desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
Knowledge of basic networking concepts (IP, DNS, DHCP).
Ability to work in a shift-based environment and provide on-call support when required
