Job Description
Summary: Nextdoor is the essential neighborhood network that connects neighbors, public agencies, and businesses around local information. As a Product Design Intern, you will contribute to the design of digital products, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance user experiences through wireframes, prototypes, and user research.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in designing wireframes, mockups, and prototypes for web and mobile applications
- Participate in user research sessions and translate insights into actionable design improvements
- Collaborate with engineers, researchers, and other designers to iterate and refine designs
- Conduct usability testing and gather feedback to enhance the user experience
- Support the design team in maintaining and evolving our design system
- Contribute to brainstorming sessions to generate ideas for new product features
- Participate in in-person Nextdoor events such as trainings, off-sites, volunteer days, and team building exercises
- Build in-person relationships with team members and contribute to Nextdoor’s company culture
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing an education in a design, human-computer interaction, or a related field; graduating between Fall 2026 through Summer 2027
- Familiarity with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to create visually compelling designs
- A passion for solving user problems and enhancing user experiences
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- A strong alignment with Nextdoor's mission and purpose
- Eagerness to explore and apply AI and emerging technologies to reimagine how work gets done
