Job Description:
- Plan and execute assessments of security controls to determine their effectiveness in protecting information systems and data.
- Conduct technical testing, document reviews, and personnel interviews to gather evidence and validate control implementation.
- Ensure that information systems comply with relevant laws, regulations, and policies, including NIST Special Publication 800-53 Revisions 4 and 5.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in security standards, guidelines, and best practices.
- Contribute to the organization's risk management process by identifying and communicating security weaknesses and recommending mitigation strategies.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) to address identified vulnerabilities.
- Work closely with system owners, information security officers, and other stakeholders to provide guidance and support on security control implementation and assessment.
- Coordinate assessment activities with minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
- Prepare comprehensive assessment reports detailing findings, recommendations, and corrective actions.
- Maintain assessment records and ensure they are organized, complete, and readily available for audits and reviews.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- DOD Secret Security Clearance
- Bachelor's Degree
Candidate can live anywhere in the lower 48 states within a reasonable distance of Redstone Arsenal, AL and works from home as taskings allow.
