Summary: The New York City Housing Development Corporation (HDC) is the nation’s largest municipal Housing Finance Agency, focused on increasing affordable housing supply and revitalizing neighborhoods. The Strategic Operations Graduate Intern will collaborate with various teams to analyze strategic issues, support project management, and develop solutions related to affordable housing initiatives. Responsibilities: - Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends and challenges - Conduct detailed financial statement analysis - Apply econometrics and causal inference to test hypotheses - Build data models to quantify problems and solutions - Create presentations for leadership and partner engagement - Assess and adapt tools to support new strategic goals - Support idea development, stakeholder engagement, and project management Required Qualifications: - Advanced skills in financial modeling or statistical analysis - Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution - 4+ years of professional experience in: Real estate finance, Quantitative analysis, Economics, Equity/debt research, Financial, planning, and analysis (FP&A), Quantitative public policy analysis, Or an equivalent combination of education and experience Preferred Qualifications: - MBA, master's degree in a quantitative discipline, or other graduate degree - 8+ years of relevant professional experience - Advanced proficiency in at least one analytics framework (e.g., R, Python, Stata, SAS) Required Skills: Financial Modeling, Statistical Analysis, Real Estate Finance, Quantitative Analysis, Economics, Equity Research, Debt Research, Financial Planning, Analysis (FP&A), Quantitative Public Policy Analysis, Analytics Frameworks, R, Python, Stata, SAS Internship Start Date: Start in 2026 Summer Benefits: HDC will fully support an intern’s application for credit or stipend from their school/university.
