Job Description
Summary: The New York City Housing Development Corporation (HDC) is a public benefit corporation focused on increasing the supply of affordable housing and stimulating economic growth in New York City. They are seeking a Human Resources Intern for Summer 2026 to assist with recruitment tracking, contribute to EEO reports, enhance I-9 compliance processes, and support general HR functions.
Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain documents, checklists and/or spreadsheets related to projects assigned by HR team members
- Review confidential HR files to ensure completeness of files, for regulatory and compliance purposes
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Talent Acquisition Specialists to streamline processes and improve applicant tracking system functionality
- Support the HR team in streamlining administrative processes to enhance efficiency
- Assist with the recruitment process by preparing and distributing job postings to the appropriate platform
- Collect and file documents as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Current enrollment in undergraduate degree program with an interest and aptitude to work in Human Resources, or non-profit management/administrative fields
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and work both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Student member of SHRM a plus
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exceptional organizational skills
- It is strongly preferred that you submit a cover letter with your resume
