Manufacturing Engineering Intern at New Flyer in St. Cloud, MN

Summary: New Flyer is North America's heavy-duty transit bus leader, providing advanced transportation solutions. This internship role supports manufacturing engineering activities, assisting in various tasks to ensure operational efficiency and safety in the manufacturing environment. Responsibilities: - Provide support to manufacturing engineering personnel as assigned - Work effectively as a team member to ensure operational metrics are achieved and any remedial action is actively pursued - Maintain current updates on manufacturing engineering related tasks on manufacturing cell log - Design or specify any equipment/tooling/racking required to support manufacturing - Ensure default locators to all parts within assigned manufacturing cells - Update and maintain layouts (plant & cell layouts and inventory, housekeeping, emergency, & security maps etc.) - Help update standard work instructions and assist with training as assigned - Help facilitate lean manufacturing initiatives (5S, value stream mapping, set-up reduction etc.) - Participate in continuous improvement and teamwork - Conduct process observations to ensure that assigned time standards are fair and consistent - Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) meetings as assigned, to assist with the disposition of non-conforming materials Required Qualifications: - 4- year engineering degree program Required Skills: Manufacturing Engineering, Lean Manufacturing Important Skills: Process Improvement, Equipment Design
