Position Purpose:
Perform tasks as a fully qualified Lineworker I covering all phases of sub- transmission line work, overhead and underground distribution line work, SCADA operation, substation construction and maintenance, metering systems installations and operation, control system operation, and maintenance of job and inventory records relating to assigned functions. Perform rubber gloving at all voltages up to and including 34.5 kV. This job category is a training position which prepares the employee to qualify and progress into more advanced Utility Lineworker positions. Advancement for employee's is based on their ability to understand and proficiently perform the Lineworker work methods and experience. Unitil uses NLC Training a certified Line School to progress and gain more knowledge to advance into each Utility Lineworker position., while normally made in two (2) years, will be determined by the employee's ability to understand and proficiently perform the Lineworker's work methods. Work performed will be under supervised training directed by a Lineworker First Class, Lead Lineworker, or Supervisor to which the employee may be assigned. |

HOURS: For 1st Class: The normal working hours for this position are in accordance with Article 3, Section 3.2 (B). Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or Monday through Thursday 1:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. (Night Shift) 1st Class Utility Lineworkers rotate every two weeks or equally between these work periods. WAGE: Ultimate rate - *$59.14 per hour, for a 40 hour week. Overtime rates in accordance with I.B.E.W. Agreement, Local #1837. *Starting wage will be in accordance with Article 3.1, Sections A – C. |
