Job Description
Your mission & challenges
In our humanoid robotics department, we are seeking several outstanding humanoid robot developers to join our team. Your responsibilities will be:
- Development and design of injection-molded components and assemblies for humanoid robot systems
- Design for Manufacturing (DfM) and Design for Assembly (DfA) with a focus on suitability for series and large-scale production
- Design of plastic components under mechanical, thermal, and dynamic loads
- Close cooperation with toolmaking, manufacturing, suppliers, and external injection molding service providers
- Definition of material selection (e.g., engineering thermoplastics, fiber-reinforced plastics)
- Analysis and reduction of warping, sink marks, weld lines, and tolerance problems
- Support for sampling and series production start-ups
- Technical responsibility for plastic components throughout the entire product life cycle
What we can look forward to
Must-have:
Degree in mechanical engineering, plastics technology, mechatronics, or comparable field
Several years of experience in the design of injection molded parts
Very good knowledge of injection molded component design:
- Wall thicknesses
- Radii
- Rib and snap connections
- Draft angles
Experience with engineering plastics (e.g., PA, PBT, PC, ABS, PPS, fiber-reinforced)
Confident use of CAD systems (CREO, SolidWorks, NX)
Understanding of tolerance chains and quality assurance
Knowledge of simulation (e.g., FEM, multibody)
Good knowledge of German or English
Nice-to-have:
- Knowledge of Moldflow/injection molding simulation
- Experience with hybrid components, insert molding, or overmolding of metals
