Job Description
Summary: NEON is accepting applications for Fall 2026 International Sales & Distribution Interns in their Los Angeles office. This internship offers students hands-on experience in film distribution, including marketing, acquisitions, and sales, while providing opportunities for professional development and mentorship.
Responsibilities:
- Sales market support: help track competitive projects, screening RSVP lists and link requests, generating availability listings, helping with the market shipment and office set-up, and (during the American Film Market in November) assist with our sales office during the market
- Box Office research: pulling box office reports weekly for the independent international distribution landscape, and for evaluating individual projects
- Script Evaluation: reading scripts and writing coverage, learning how to evaluate with international sales value in mind
- Marketing/Publicity: updating and tracking international festival requests, compiling international reviews and press breaks, updating grids of new marketing assets, and tracking/reviewing localized artwork
- Other research/support as needed: i.e. research on a specific territory, film, or talent
- NEON all-intern tasks: partake in team duties such as office support, film presentations, social sweeps, festival review coverage, and special events staffing
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited college/university
- Individuals with a passion for independent film and a proactive, positive attitude
- Strong computer skills, especially in Google Docs and Excel
- A collaborative spirit and excellent interpersonal skills
- Cultural literacy and a curiosity to engage with marketing and distribution campaigns
- Quick learner with strong problem-solving capabilities
- High attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
- Strong communication and analytical writing abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous internship in sales or marketing in film is a plus
