Job Description
Summary: Neogen Corporation is dedicated to enhancing the quality, quantity, and safety of the global food supply. As an R&D Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting research and development projects while building skills in experimental design, data collection, and technical documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with laboratory experiments, including preparation, setup, testing, and accurate data recording
- Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data under the guidance of R&D scientists and project leads
- Support the development, validation, and optimization of new or existing products, processes, and methodologies
- Maintain laboratory equipment, inventory, records, and documentation in alignment with safety, quality, and compliance standards
- Prepare technical summaries, reports, and presentations to communicate results and project progress
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Quality, Operations, and Product Management, and perform related research or administrative tasks to support R&D initiatives
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Engineering, or a closely related scientific field
- Foundational understanding of laboratory techniques and scientific principles
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and follow established protocols
- Demonstrated ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain precise, organized documentation
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
- Ability to work safely in a laboratory environment, following all safety procedures and guidelines
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a laboratory setting (academic or industry)
- Familiarity with data analysis tools or laboratory software
- Knowledge of GLP, GMP, or other relevant regulatory standards
- Experience with instrumentation such as PCR, spectrophotometry, or chromatography
