Job Description
Summary: Neogen Corporation is dedicated to enhancing the quality and safety of the global food supply. As a Finance Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and data analysis while working alongside experienced finance professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with monthly financial reporting, including preparing schedules, updating templates, and validating financial data
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities by gathering data, performing variance analysis, and preparing summary reports and presentations
- Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions, including cost analysis, trend analysis, and KPI tracking
- Partner with cross-functional teams to collect information, research discrepancies, and help ensure data accuracy and completeness
- Help maintain financial databases, dashboards, spreadsheets, and documentation
- Participate in special projects such as process improvement initiatives, basic financial modeling, system updates, and other ad hoc tasks to support the finance organization
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a closely related field from an accredited institution
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret numerical data and identify trends
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., formulas, basic functions, spreadsheets); familiarity with financial modeling or data analysis tools is a plus
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exposure to ERP or financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
- Coursework or foundational knowledge in accounting principles and/or corporate finance
- Interest in or exposure to data visualization tools (such as Power BI or Tableau)
