Job Description
Summary: Navy Federal Credit Union is a leading financial institution that values meaningful career experiences and a supportive culture. They are seeking a User Experience Strategist I to aid in developing human-centered design strategies and solutions, providing support to lead strategists while working under the guidance of senior peers.
Responsibilities:
- Aid in the synthesizing of user data from various sources, providing support to lead strategists
- Analyze the user experience by evaluating the experiences end-to-end, seeking out opportunities for improvement
- Collect and assimilate customer data to assist with guiding design
- Assist business partners and researchers, designers, and experience owners to solve basic user experience problems
- Assist with the development and maintenance of experience and journey maps throughout life cycle of projects
- Build relationships that help the user experience definition effort succeed
- Share ideas and new concepts, strategies or innovative approaches to user experience solutioning
- Support projects and research initiatives within the business unit and/or across the organization
- Support strategist and project teams with assignments across work streams
- Coordinate workshop logistics for lead strategists and assist with compiling workshop materials
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Ability to exercise initiative using good judgment to make sound decisions
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and/or in a team environment to achieve goals
- Basic knowledge of best practices for web and mobile-based content, tools, and forms
- Exposure to mapping of ecosystems, experiences, customer journeys, and service blueprints
- Exposure to user centered design principles, visual design, user behavior and interaction models
- Familiarity with design thinking principles and techniques
- Familiarity with interpreting requirements into executable design solutions
- Familiarity with design fundamentals, such as color theory, typography and composition
- Familiarity with researching, compiling, analyzing and documenting data, business processes, and workflow
- Familiarity with the processes of sketching, conceptual design, wire framing, prototyping, and usability testing
- Familiarity with agile methodologies
- Basic collaboration and persuasion skills
- Effective organizational, planning and time management skills
- Effective research, analytical, and problem solving skills
- Effective skill in using data communications and storage
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Effective word processing and spreadsheet software skills
- Skill maintaining accuracy with attention to detail while meeting deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Graphic Design, User-Centered Design/Human-Computer Interaction, Design Thinking, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Knowledge of web, mobile and application design
