What you'll do
Be the engineer who turns vision into reality. As our software engineer, you’ll design and deliver innovative, customer-centric solutions that underpin critical banking operations. You’ll engineer software, scripts, and tools, working in permanent feature teams alongside architects, analysts, and fellow engineers to build systems that are secure, scalable, and future-ready. You’ll deliver solutions that are not only robust but are also designed to create real business impact.
You’ll focus on:
Producing complex, business-critical software rapidly and to the highest standards of quality
Owning the full development lifecycle from design and coding through testing, deployment, ongoing optimisation, and ultimately to replacement or decommissioning
Collaborating across teams to enhance our engineering capability and embed best practices
Driving continuous improvement through automation, modern frameworks, and innovative solutions
The skills you'll need

You’re also expected to have:
At least 8 to 12 years of experience in designing and developing high-performance and high-availability applications using proven frameworks and technologies
A proven track record of deploying and operating highly available cloud workloads on AWS; equivalent expertise on other major platforms is valued
Experience of implementing programming best practice, especially around scalability, automation, virtualisation, optimisation, availability, performance, and cost-efficiency
Familiarity with modern architectural patterns such as microservices, event streaming, serverless computing, and multi-region infrastructure
