What you'll do
As a DevOps Engineer, you’ll be responsible for designing and implementing solutions, driving automation, and optimising performance across the software development lifecycle. You’ll be securing buy-in to DevOps methodologies from the Product Owner, Platform Lead, and other key business stakeholders, driving commitment to an alternative way of working.
We’ll look to you to build and leverage internal and external relationships to make sure that decisions made are commercially focused and create long-term value for the bank. You’ll also be collaborating in the development of the DevOps strategy and roadmap aligned with business goals.
In addition, you’ll be:
Designing and overseeing the architecture of systems and applications with a focus on scalability and reliability
Analysing system performance and optimising infrastructure to improve efficiency and reduce costs
Driving innovation by evaluating and integrating new technologies that enhance the DevOps ecosystem
Leading the automation of advanced workflows, creating reusable modules and templates
Making sure that practices align with compliance requirements and industry standards
Communicating effectively with stakeholders to understand requirements and provide technical guidance
The skills you'll need
To take on this role, you’ll need to drive adoption of DevOps ways of working by securing buy‑in from product owners, platform leads, and key business stakeholders. You'll also advise platform, CoE, and feature teams on targeted DevOps capability improvements aligned to their maturity and needs.
You’ll also need:
Experience in design, implement, and scale cloud-native DevOps solutions using Terraform, AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD, GitOps, and advanced automation
Knowledge and experience of Agile ways of working
Experience of deploying business critical systems to production on a daily continuous basis
Ensure systems are secure, observable, resilient, and cost‑efficient through cloud security, SRE practices, HA/DR, FinOps, and chaos engineering
Knowledge of portfolio management theories, models, and practices, within an Agile or DevOps environment
