Job Description
Summary: National Ramp is a market leader in accessibility solutions, seeking a passionate Manufacturing Engineer to enhance their metal manufacturing operations. The role involves creating detailed drawings, improving manufacturing processes, and collaborating with engineering and production teams to ensure efficient operations.
Responsibilities:
- Create, update, and maintain detailed 2D and 3D drawings using CAD software
- Convert engineering concepts and customer requirements into manufacturable designs
- Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions
- Assist in designing tooling, fixtures, and jigs to support production
- Support process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve quality
- Collaborate with shop floor teams to troubleshoot manufacturing issues in real time
- Ensure drawings and processes comply with company standards and industry specifications
- Participate in prototype builds, testing, and validation of new products
- Maintain accurate engineering documentation, including revisions and version control
- Assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions for production issues
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 0–3 years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AUTOCAD or similar)
- Basic understanding of metal manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, welding, forming, fabrication)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret technical drawings
- Familiarity with GD&T is a plus
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with both engineering and production teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exposure to ERP/MRP systems
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles
- Experience working in a shop floor or production environment
- Basic knowledge of materials, tolerances, and manufacturing constraints
Required Skills: CAD software proficiency, metal manufacturing processes
