We are currently seeking a detail-oriented, proactive Legal Administrative Assistant to join our team on a part-time, 6-month contract.
This role is a great fit for someone who’s looking to roll up their sleeves and gain hands-on experience in legal, compliance, and real estate operations within our subsidiary company, Right at Home Realty, one of Canada’s largest independent brokerages. You’ll get real exposure to regulatory processes, internal investigations, and corporate legal work while working closely with a supportive and experienced Legal & Compliance team.
In this role, you’ll report to the Manager of Legal & Compliance and play an active part in supporting legal documentation, regulatory matters, and day-to-day brokerage operations. You won’t just be observing. You’ll be contributing to meaningful, real-world work that offers valuable insight into real estate law, compliance, and corporate governance.

Responsibilities
- Supporting day-to-day administrative/clerical duties and legal functions (answering phones, filing, and making copies)
- Assist with the preparation, review, and organization of legal documents, including notices, agreements, correspondence, and internal memoranda.
- Manage incoming violations, notices and complaints from RECO (Real Estate Council of Ontario), various Real Estate Boards across the GTA, CRTC investigations and other regulatory compliance matters;
- Reviewing files, compiling evidence, and drafting and submitting documents to administrative tribunals in a timely manner, while demonstrating strong writing, proofreading, and grammar-editing skills.
- Research and remain abreast of changes to statutes, rules and regulations within the real estate industry, and Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC and report such changes to the legal team and all departments affected by these changes.
- Maintain and continuously update minute book documentation, corporate resolutions, board minutes, shareholders registers, ledgers, corporate structure charts, etc., for all entities – both electronically and physically.
- Maintaining calendars, scheduling appointments, preparing and organizing legal documents, and tracking deadlines, conditional dates, and meetings for the manager and litigation files.
- Proactively identifying issues in existing workflows and administrative procedures and recommending practical solutions to improve efficiency.
- Organizing and maintaining both physical and electronic files and records.
- Liaise professionally with insurance adjusters, legal professionals and agents on all court-related matters.
- Research and draft various subject contents for meetings, monthly presentations, email notices, and training modules.
- Perform other legal administrative duties as assigned by the Manager, Legal and Compliance
Talent Specs
- 1+ years of administrative or legal assistant experience.
- Must be able to work in person at our head office.
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Legal Assistant or a related field is an asset.
- Extremely detail-oriented with a high level of initiative and ability to multitask.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong computer skills, including Adobe and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and organizational abilities.
- Able to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced office environment.
