Job Description
Summary: MV Transportation is seeking an Operations Management Intern to participate in a structured leadership development internship. The role provides hands-on exposure to transit operations, workforce management, compliance, and operational leadership, while supporting educational and professional development opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Gain hands-on exposure to daily transit operations including dispatch, routing, scheduling, KPI tracking, customer service metrics, and service delivery performance management
- Learn safety, maintenance, compliance, and regulatory fundamentals including DOT, FTA, ADA, and Company operating standards
- Support workforce management initiatives including recruitment, onboarding, retention, employee engagement, and exposure to labor and employee relations processes
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cost controls, and P&L reviews to understand operational financial performance and compliance considerations
- Lead or support a division-focused operational improvement project and present findings and recommendations to operational and executive leadership
- Complete weekly progress reports summarizing operational observations, key learnings, project updates, and process improvement recommendations
- Observe and follow all applicable workplace safety, confidentiality, anti-harassment, and professional conduct policies during the internship program
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student, or recent graduate
- Interest in operations, leadership, transportation, logistics, or public transit industries
- Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work full-time for the duration of the internship program
- Demonstrated leadership experience through coursework, student organizations, athletics, military service, or prior internships preferred
