Summary: Mueller Water Products, Inc. has been a leader in water infrastructure for over 165 years. They are currently seeking an OPEX Intern to assist in studying assembly line processes, documenting procedures, and analyzing data to improve manufacturing efficiency. Responsibilities: - Studying assembly line processes and identifying areas for improved throughput, work line balancing, and standardizing processes - Documenting processes using process flow mapping, standard work, and visual management techniques - Revising documentation used in manufacturing processes and assist shop floor team leaders on a daily basis - Analyzing data to facilitate improvements - Team with other process engineers to identify and develop the process and equipment needed to produce specific products, parts, and components Required Qualifications: - Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering - Must be on track to graduate with a degree in the next 1 to 2 years - Must be available to work from the facility 10-15 hours per week - Strong computer skills, with an emphasis on MS Office - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Ability to work independently and take direction from others - Candidate must be able to lift 25 lbs Preferred Qualifications: - Lean or Toyota Production Systems training - Coursework with CAD/Drafting and/or programming Required Skills: Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, MS Office, Lean, Toyota Production System, Process flow mapping, Standard work, Visual management techniques, CAD, Programming Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision insurance, 401k plan with 5% Company match, Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP), Short-term and long-term disability benefits, Vacation, 100% paid parental leave, Tuition reimbursement program, Student debt retirement matching, Well-being program, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Company-provided life insurance, Supplemental insurance at group rates, And more.
