Position Summary
The assembler is responsible for assembling, packing, and preparing products for shipment, ensuring they meet quality and packaging standards. This role contributes to an efficient shipping process that ensures customer satisfaction through timely and accurate order fulfillment.
What You'll Do
- Assemble products and parts according to work orders, ensuring quality standards.
- Prepare items for shipping by securely packaging parts, labeling items, and organizing pallets.
- Operate packaging and assembly equipment safely and efficiently.
- Verify product accuracy, quantity, and quality before packing for shipment.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals and maintain workflow.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, materials used, and product inventory.
- Identify and communicate issues with inventory, materials, or equipment.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to support efficient operations.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Train team members on technical duties.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, assembly, or a related field is preferred.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to read and follow packing instructions and work orders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues with assembly or packaging.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
Physical Requirements
- Extensive standing, recurring bending, reaching as well as moderate to heavy lifting.
- Good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
Other Requirements
- Identify and report quality, material, or equipment issues to supervisors.
- Meet daily production goals while maintaining high workmanship standards.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety requirements.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to support production schedules and continuous improvement initiatives.
