General Description to Tower Infrastructure Engineer

This role typically involves managing and maintaining telecommunications tower infrastructure, ensuring safety compliance, reporting and supporting network deployment and maintenance. The Tower Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, inspection, maintenance, retrofitting and upgrading of telecommunications tower infrastructure This role ensures the structural integrity and operational efficiency of existing Tower assets, supports new Tower deployment and guarantees compliance with industry and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform structural assessments and site inspections of existing Telecom towers, rooftops, other wireless infrastructure
• Plan and coordinate tower upgrades, retrofit, installations, and decommissions in collaboration with the Senior Operations manager and field teams
• Ensure all tower construction and maintenance adhere to regulatory and safety guidelines egTIA-222, OSHA, FCC
• Manage documentation including engineering drawings, site audit reports, vendors and tower certifications
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues affecting tower performance or stability
• Work with contractors and vendors to ensure timely and quality completion of field projects
• Support RF engineers and Implementation teams by preparing infrastructure to support antennas, radios, and associate hardware for existing and new tenants on our sites
• Monitor infrastructure integrity on a regular basis by using inspection tools, drones, or software where applicable
• Provide technical reports and guidance quarterly on tower modifications including loading analysis, reinforcement, and equipment mounting

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Telecommunications, related field(or equivalent experience).
• 3+years’ experience in tower engineering, telecom infrastructure, or structural fieldwork
• Proficient with AutoCAD, MS Office, structural analysis software
• Familiarity with telecom regulations, codes, and standards (TIA-222, ANSI, OSHA)
• Strong understanding of RF infrastructure components and mounting standards
• Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and engineering diagrams
• Excellent problem-solving and project management skills
• Ability to travel and work at heights when required
• Preferred Skills & Certifications
• PE(Professional Engineer)–NSE&COREN license
• Tower Climbing Safety & Rescue Certification
• Experience with drone-based tower inspections or 3D modeling
